From Panini:

Given last season’s highly decorated debut of Dominion Hockey as the newest super-premium superstar on the sports collectibles landscape, it would be no stretch at all to call 2011-12 Dominion Hockey easily one of the most anticipated releases of the season.

And that’s before you even consider the sheer amount of improvements the Panini America Product Development team made to the product for its sophomore showing. Without question, Dominion will conclude Panini America’s 2011-12 NHL product season with a massive, thunderous bang.

The laundry list of advancements includes:

  • One Autographed Rookie Patch RC numbered to 199 or less in every eight-card box, along with at least two additional autographs and three memorabilia cards
  • More unique designs and fewer parallels, making for a much more expansive player checklist
  • Panini America’s first use of game-worn Gordie Howe and 2011-12 Winnipeg Jets memorabilia
  • The introduction of autographed single- and dual-player Peerless Patches
  • The etched real-silver Engravatures insert returns this season with a second set devoted to the 2010-11 Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins
  • The introduction of two-player fight-strap button Strapping Lads cards

2011-12 Dominion Hockey from Panini will be available for pre-order soon from Canada Card World.

The force will be strong with this set.

Since Star Wars hit theatres a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, there have been many trading card sets for the franchise. But with 24 packs per box and 12 cards per pack, 2012 Topps Star Wars Galactic Files will be the largest single-series Star Wars set to date with 350 cards.

Spanning all six films as well as various TV series, it’s a set which will connect classic characters, aliens, vehicles and more. Due to its sheer size, collectors will need at least two boxes to complete a set. In addition, 2012 Topps Star Wars Galactic Files will have three parallels: Blue (/350), Red (/35), and Gold (/1). As well, each box will come with a sketch card.

Autographs available in this release range from the high-end talent such as Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) to the many familiar faces and popular characters/actors who have populated the universe which so many of us love.

Inserts include:

  • Foil Cards (1:6 packs) – rare black and white photos from the original trilogy.
  • Classic Lines (1:4 packs) – some of the trilogy’s most memorable quotes.
  • “I Have a Bad Feeling About This” (1:4 packs) – tracks the line throughout the films.
  • Duels of Fate (1:6 packs) – Lightsaber duels.
  • Heroes on Both Sides (1:6 packs) – double-sided cards of key battles.

2012 Topps Star Wars Galactic Files will be released in late September 2012 and is currently available for pre-order at Canada Card World.

The Hockey Hall of Fame will be welcoming four new members in the player category in November 2012, as the selection committee announced today that Joe Sakic, Mats Sundin, Pavel Bure, and Adam Oates have been chosen for induction.

All fan favourites, the four players began their careers during the boom in the hockey card market.

Sakic, Sundin, and Oates all passed the 1,000 point barrier however Bure didnt cross the mark as his career was cut short due to injuries.

Bure, a pure goal scorer, didn’t need to pass the magic 1,000 point mark as he was one of the greatest scorers in the history of the game. He also won the Calder Trophy in his first season.

Oates, one of the finest assist men in the game, finally gets to step out of Brett Hull’s shadow. In addition, Oates was also named the head coach of the Washington Capitals today.

Sundin, a long-time Leaf captain, shined in Toronto as well as on the international stage and won an Olympic gold medal with Sweden in 2006.

Joe Sakic, a lifetime Quebec/Colorado centre, was one of the greatest Canadians to ever play the game. He won two Stanley Cups, the Conn Smythe Trophy in 1996, and the Hart Trophy in 2001.

All four players are often featured in many hockey card sets to this day. Take a look at some recent checklists and see which boxes you should pick up at Canada Card World to collect these Hall of Famers!

Canada Card World would like to congratulate Gabriel Landeskog.

His phenomenal rookie season included 22 goals and 52 points on a poor Colorado team. Not only that, Landeskog had a +20 rating and took 270 shots, showing how important he is to the young Avalanche team.

With a healthy Matt Duchene returning for the 2012-13 NHL season, the future is bright for Landeskog and the entire team.

Gabriel Landeskog rookie cards are available at Canada Card World in most 2011-12 NHL products from Panini and Upper Deck.
