In The Game Signs Two Free Agents!

As NHL teams continue to grab the most attractive free agents on the market, In The Game is also attempting to build the strongest team possible.

They became a lot stronger this week with the signing of Mark Messier and Vladislav Tretiak.

Messier enjoyed an outstanding 25 year NHL career with the Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks. Considered to be among the best players of all time, Messier is also regarded as one of the greatest leaders in the history of the game.

“We are pleased to have Mark back on the In The Game team after an absence of few years” said In The Game President, Dr. Brian H. Price “Mark fits perfectly into our goal of being hockey’s historians in trading cards.”

Messier is second on the all-time career lists for regular season points (1887), playoff points (295) and regular season games played (1756). He won six Stanley Cups, five with the Oilers and one with the Rangers. He is the only professional athlete to captain two different teams to championships

Mark Messier will be featured in Ultimate Memorabilia 10th Edition, Enshrined, Heroes and Prospects, and Decades.

Vladislav Tretiak, former goaltender for the Soviet Union’s national ice hockey team, is considered to be one of the greatest goaltenders in the history of the game.  He was voted to the International Ice Hockey Federation’s Centennial All-Star Team. Currently, Vladislav is president of the Ice Hockey Federation of Russia and was the general manager of the Russian 2010 Winter Olympic hockey team.

When Sports Illustrated named its greatest hockey team ever in 2000, it chose Tretiak as the goalie in a lineup that also included Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Hull, Gordie Howe, and Bobby Orr.

Vladislav Tretiak will be featured in many In The Game products this year including; Ultimate Memorabilia 10th Edition, Between The Pipes, Enshrined, and Illustrious.
